Tim Carleton
Chief Investment Officer
Tim founded Auscap Asset Management in 2012. He has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. From 2007 to 2011 he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs where he was responsible for managing an Australian equities long/short portfolio using Proprietary funds. Prior to 2007 he worked at Macquarie Bank within the Investment Banking Group. Tim has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney and is a CFA charterholder, a CMT charterholder, a Senior Associate of FINSIA and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Will Mumford
Deputy Portfolio Manager
Will has 9 years’ experience in the financial services industry and joined Auscap in 2018. From 2016 to 2018 Will was an Investment Banking Analyst at Macquarie Capital. Will has a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) from the University of New South Wales, majoring in Accounting and Finance.
Gavin Rogers
Investment Manager
Gavin has 28 years’ experience in the financial services industry and joined Auscap in 2018. Between 2005-2011 Gavin was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where he was responsible for managing an Australian equities long/short portfolio using Proprietary Capital. From 2004 to 2005 Gavin was an Executive Director assisting the Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs. Prior to this Gavin was a Research Analyst at JB Were (now Goldman Sachs) and an Actuarial Analyst at Towers Perrin (now part of Russell Investments). Gavin is a CFA charterholder, a qualified actuary and has both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Teaching (Secondary) from the University of Melbourne.
Lauren Murphy
Head of Distribution
Lauren has 19 years’ experience in the financial services industry and joined Auscap in 2014. From 2012 to 2014 Lauren was Vice President at CIMB Securities Australia (previously RBS) responsible for Institutional Sales to equity markets clients. Between 2009 and 2012 Lauren was at Merrill Lynch as an Associate in the Research team covering Consumer stocks and then Corporate Access covering key ASX listed corporate and institutional clients. Prior to this Lauren worked as a Senior Equity Analyst at the Royal Bank of Scotland (previously ABN AMRO) covering Banks & Diversified Financials. Lauren has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Science (Statistics) from the University of Queensland.
Sarah Lappan
Chief Operating Officer
Sarah has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. From 2007 to 2018, Sarah worked at Link Fund Solutions (previously White Outsourcing Pty Ltd), initially as a Portfolio Analyst and from 2011 as Investment Operations Manager, where she was responsible for middle and back office administration for a range of fund managers. Prior to this, Sarah gained experience working at J.P. Morgan as a Senior Reconciliations Specialist, Ord Minnett as a Desk Assistant and Bell Potter as a Trainee Advisor. Sarah has international experience having been based in London working for Schroder Investment Management as a Reconciliation Officer and in Dublin at Invesco as a Project and Test Analyst covering a broad range of financial services functions. Sarah has a Masters of Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional and a Bachelor of Business from Charles Sturt University.
Philippa Macaskill
General Counsel & Head of Responsible Investment
Philippa has over 13 years’ experience as a lawyer. Philippa was previously a Senior Associate at King & Wood Mallesons, specialising in commercial litigation, and has prior experience working in-house at Auscap as a Senior Lawyer. In addition to her commercial work, Philippa has a broad range of pro bono experience across areas including child rights, asylum seekers and refugees, human rights and international criminal law. She was awarded the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Pro Bono Award in 2016, and in 2019 she received a UN Women Australia MBA Scholarship which is awarded based on leadership and commitment to enhancing women’s rights and opportunities. Philippa has a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) (Hons I), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sydney. She also has a Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales.
